[Introducing Peter Black] A.D. Six: “Not The Same”

In the last year or so I’ve become a sucker for electronic music, every last crumb. It’s an impressive genre, and a style of music that seemingly evolves by the second. That’s why we’re going to feature a lot of it this year. And who better to help highlight this growing movement than Denver’s Peter Black, one of the genres biggest cheerleaders, and a mile-high brethren to the Snacks fam. He’ll be stopping through on a weekly basis to share the good word, enjoy his first review below…

This track titled “Not The Same” was slipped to me in the dark hours of the night by a mysterious duo called A.D. six and what a stunner it turned out to be. It starts out slowly with these insanely sublime female vox samples oozing R&B sextronica all over the speakers. It then slowly winds and builds like an orgasm that eventually plunges you into one of the most gorgeous low-end work outs your mind could fathom. You can hear the influence of Joy Orbison, Jacques Green, James Blake or any of the other seriously talented crop of post-dubstep producers hailing from the UK.

Not much is known about the mysterious duo based out of Denver/Philadelphia at this point. What little information we do know is their names. Bodie Roybal & Theodore Marshall. They’ve been collaborating together since 2009 and produce & write long-distance. We understand a full EP is in the works and will drop sometime in 2012. Stay tuned. We’ll keep you in the loop as soon as it arrives.
